“Spider-Man” trilogy director Sam Raimi has listed his stately Pacific Palisades residence in Lower Riviera for $17.49 million, Gimme Shelter has learned.
The gorgeous home comes with interiors by Windsor Smith, whose celebrity clients include Gwyneth Paltrow. It is perched above Rustic Canyon, with neighbors including Kate Hudson, Molly Sims and Snapchat billionaire Bobby Murphy.
“The views are breathtaking,” said broker Parham Mansourian of the Agency, who shares the listing with Mauricio Umansky, the Agency’s founder and CEO.
Last week, Raimi’s next project was also announced. He will be directing “Magic,” a remake of the 1978 cult horror classic and psychological thriller that starred Anthony Hopkins as a tormented ventriloquist named Corky who heads to the Catskills to find his high school love.
The announcement follows the success of “Send Help,” a horror/survival thriller starring Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien, which Raimi directed — that was out earlier this year.
For a man whose success is based on a visionary blend of acute horror mixed with raw comedy, embracing the absurdity that can be found in both genres, Raimi’s home is perhaps surprisingly traditional.
Built in 2007, the gated home sits on just under half an acre, and it comes with stunning mountain views.
Inside, the 7,467-square-foot dwelling opens to a grand foyer that leads to a formal living room with high ceilings and a fireplace and a large dining room with a butler’s pantry. There’s also a chef’s kitchen that leads to a family room and a breakfast nook.
The main bedroom suite features a sitting area, two marble baths and two large closets. Five additional bedrooms include oversized closets, bespoke wallpapers and ensuite baths. Upstairs, there’s a sitting room and a reading nook.
