Hey, you never know.
New Yorkers priced out of the staggering tickets for FIFA World Cup matches at MetLife have another shot.
Mayor Zohran Mamdani is expected to announce that about 1,000 tickets will become available at $50 apiece as part of a lottery. Mamdani is having a press conference Thursday morning. Watch it live in the player below.
The tickets would be split across matches and would not be available for the July 19 final, according to The Athletic. They’re only expected to be available for New York City residents and will include free round-trip bus travel to the events, The Athletic said.
The outlet says Mamdani earned the concession in a meeting with FIFA president Gianni Infantino in a meeting at City Hall a few months back. More details are expected later Thursday.
