“90 Day Fiancé” season 12 star Marissa’s loved ones are skeptical of her fiancé, Edward, due to their extreme differences in wealth.

On Sunday’s episode of “90 Day Fiancé,” Marissa prepared for Edward’s arrival in the US from the Dominican Republic. The two met while she was on a trip to his home country, where he worked as a hotel concierge.

Marissa, 45, grew up extremely wealthy and also has a high-paying job in New York City, while Edward, 32, has never been on an airplane.

Marissa’s ex-husband, Michael — whom she shares her two sons with — was openly hostile about Edward’s arrival and their family’s changing dynamic. He questioned Edward’s motive for being with Marissa, wondering if he was only trying to get a green card.

Michael shared that Marissa’s wealthy family was an issue in their own marriage, because he felt like “a loser.”

“You got a million-dollar home here and it can make you feel a certain way,” he told her. “Look, I didn’t feel like I fit in.”

Marissa acknowledged her parents were “affluent people.”

“They’ve exposed me to a lot as far as traveling, really nice vacations, beautiful hotels, things like that,” she explained. “I know it’ll be intimidating for Edward to meet and spend time with my family because they’re probably going to judge him and wonder what his intentions are, just like they did with Michael.”

Michael said he was going to have “an attitude” with Edward and warned Marissa that it was going to be.a problem if their two sons were affected by Edward. TLC

Michael admitted he was going to have an attitude when it came to Edward.

“The only thing that was an absolute problem is if it’s going to add stress to my boys, it’s going to be both of your guys’ problems,” he threatened.

He added, “He needs to not come in hot and heavy and come at me a certain way because especially when it comes to my kids, I’ll bite someone’s face off for my kids.”

Marissa worried about Michael confronting Edward, noting that her ex was “very scary and intimidating” when he was worked up. Still, she was extremely excited to welcome Edward to the US and also nervous.

“I don’t know if I want to give this single independent woman part of me up, but I love Edward so much that I want to take this leap of faith for us,” she told cameras.

Marissa and Edward happily reunited when she picked him up at the airport in New York City, and she presented him with a gift — a key to her million-dollar home wrapped in a box.

Marissa reflected on their K1 visa journey to bring Edward to the US.

“We appreciate now being together in this moment just because like, it’s been a long time waiting and to have Edward here now just feels like probably one of the best days in our relationship so far,” she said.
