The Issue: Violent protests at Newark ICE detention center Delaney Hall, resulting in at least 40 arrests.

Several people were arrested for rioting at Delaney Hall, thanks to Gov. Mikie Sherrill waking up and finally taking action (“Radicals from afar,” June 2).

Some protesters turned out to not be citizens of New Jersey; some are likely being paid by outside sources.

These people are anarchists, such as Antifa, who are out to destroy this country.

It started with the George Floyd riots and continues now with the constant riots against ICE agents who are working to get rid of criminal illegal aliens.

It is time to take action against these people and their supporters by sending them all to jail.

Merely getting visitation rights for those in captivity at Delaney Hall should have been granted immediately if there was nothing to hide.

It took much protest — including a few violent ones — but in the end, the officials in charge are going to allow access to this facility (“Sherrill’s Delaney gall,” June 1).

In the best interests of those in captivity as well as Homeland Security officers, let’s all realize that these are human beings; especially those who have done nothing wrong.

Let’s make it very clear: If Joe Biden didn’t open the floodgates, this chaos wouldn’t be taking place.

The blame is entirely his.

Democrats seem to ignore the reason illegal immigrants are detained in an ICE facility.

The solution?

Place photographs of the detainees with the crimes they have committed against American citizens outside detention centers.

All who conveniently deny their crimes will have to reconcile the rapes, murders and assaults these illegals have committed — not to mention the initial crime of coming here illegally.

Will that get their misguided heads straight?

Justice will not prevail until these seditious anti-ICE hooligans are held accountable and not given a pass (“Delaney haul off to jail,” June 2).

In so many cases — the latest being the numerous arrests of the Columbia University and City College wannabe-terrorists in New York City — charges have been either dismissed or downgraded.

Until those arrested in Newark are hit with penalties equivalent to their criminal behavior, the civil unrest they cause will continue unabated.

People with common sense have known since the George Floyd riots that a large number of protesters are from out of town, but we knew nothing would be done by the Biden administration.

But now with the Trump administration, the funding mechanism for these riots must be uncovered.

These rioters certainly aren’t paying airfare to get to New Jersey or wherever they are told to go, purchase gas masks and body armor, custom signs and riot gear without funding.

Exposing and prosecuting funders of violent extremists needs to be as high a priority as fraud investigation.

No excuses!

First, Sherrill blamed ICE for confrontations outside the ICE detention center.

Now she is blaming outside agitators and still lying about what is going on in the facility.

Typical Democrats; they have an agenda and they’re never wrong.

If Sherrill thinks defending illegals is a popular thing to do, I can’t wait for the next election to show her how wrong she is.

When the last administration was in office for four miserable years, you didn’t see the other side protesting, rioting, fighting with law enforcement and complaining.

We wanted what was best for the country, even though Comatose Joe had no clue.

Get over it, lefties: Trump won, deal with it.

You can thank him later.

The violent Newark attacks on ICE agents and police is tyranny, not protest.

I’m sure the government knows who’s funding this outrage.

Those illegal migrants are treated better than many people living on the streets, including veterans. Remember the old adage that charity begins at home?
