All aboard!
New York is preparing to welcome a historic gathering of the world’s most iconic tall ships as part of Sail4th 250, an unprecedented event that will bring together dozens of vessels from 20 countries to commemorate the 250th anniversary of American independence this July Fourth.
Nearly 50 tall ships will make their way from all corners of the world to New York Harbor, sailing past an anchored fleet of allied and U.S. Navy vessels in the International Parade of Sail — traveling from under the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, past the Statue of Liberty and up the Hudson River to the George Washington Bridge.
You can follow this historic celebration on Telemundo, Peacock and in this article. Participating tall ships hail from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, France, Germany, Peru, India, Italy, Monaco, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden and Uruguay as they sail toward New York Harbor.

Fun facts about the historic celebration
It will be the largest maritime and aerial gathering in U.S. history, according to organizers.
Forty-eight tall ships from 20 countries will sail through New York Harbor during the international parade on July 4.
More than 40 U.S. and allied naval vessels will be anchored in the Hudson River for the International Naval Review 250.
More than 120 aircraft, led by the Blue Angels, will fly over the parade in an international aerial review.
An attendance of 6 million spectators is expected along 15 miles of coastline.
The parade will feature primarily Class A vessels — the largest tall ships of their kind — ranging from approximately 160 to 370 feet in length.
When and where to watch Sail4th?
Extensive live coverage of the International Parade of Sail on July 4th will be the highlight of the event, airing live on Telemundo and Peacock starting at 7:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. ET.
NBCU Local is a media partner of Sail4th 250 and will have live coverage from across the city, including Governor’s Island, Riverbank Park, Roosevelt Park and The Intrepid, as well as on board the Queen Mary 2, the USCGC Eagle and tall ships from Peru and Italy, among other locations throughout the harbor.
“With 50 days to go, New York Harbor stands ready to welcome the world,” said Sail4th 250 president Chris O’Brien. “The men and women who have devoted years to making this event a reality — across the U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, Sail4th 250 and dozens of partner agencies — have built something this nation hasn’t seen in a generation. On July 4th, the world will bear witness to a truly international goodwill exchange.”
Through this partnership, NBC and Telemundo stations will present Sail4th 250 coverage across TV, streaming and digital platforms nationwide leading up to and during the July 3–8 event in New York.
