If you thought the Knicks watch parties for Game 1 were crazy, remember this: That was a Wednesday.
Friday night’s Game 2 is sure to see exuberant crowds once again fill the streets in solidarity with their orange-and-blue brethren, perhaps even more electrified to celebrate after one win and an upcoming weekend.
So. Where will you be?
The Knicks are hosting a watch party inside Madison Square Garden Friday night, but you needed tickets for that ($10 apiece), and they sold out within minutes upon release this week.
The proceeds of the ticket sales to the MSG watch party go to the Garden of Dreams Foundation. Anyone who didn’t act fast (very, very fast) and snag a ticket through the official site can take a shot on the sites like StubHub, with tickets selling for north of $100 — or three times that the closer you get to the performance arena.
(For what it’s worth, tickets to Monday’s home Game 3 are well topping $7,500 on the secondary market. Even Jalen Brunson said he’d rather spend that money on something else.)
Game 2 also has free watch party options. Plaza 33 outside Madison Square Garden was raucous for Game 1, and Friday’s weather will only enliven the crowds. The Knicks are also hosting a free viewing in Central Park.
Join us on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. before tip-off for a News 4 special on everything Knicks and the road to the championship. Catch it wherever you watch News 4. Like right here.
Mayor Zohran Mamdani has already purchased his ticket to Game 3 of the NBA Finals between the Spurs and Knicks, and President Trump will be at Madison Square Garden that night for the game as well — tapping into the type of team spirit that can smooth political differences. NBC New York’s Melissa Russo reports.
