40 long years ago, the New York Mets and Boston Red Sox met in one of the most historic World Series in Major League Baseball history.

This weekend, the two under-.500 clubs will attempt to improve their rough records in a pre-All-Star break three-game series at Queens’ Citi Field.

The trio of showdowns are slated to go down:

Friday, July 10
7:15 p.m.
Sonny Gray (10-1, 2.61 ERA) vs. Nolan McLean (6-5, 3.73 ERA)
Eric Emanuel T-Shirt giveaway and Fireworks Night

Saturday, July 11
4:10 p.m.
TBD vs. Freddy Peralta (5-7, 4.68 ERA)
Devin Williams replica jersey giveaway

Sunday, July 12
1:40 p.m.
TBD vs. TBD
Mets Kids sunglasses giveaway

If you’d like to be there, last-minute tickets are available for all three contests.

Better yet, they’re dirt cheap.

At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on seats for any one game was $20 including fees on SeatGeek.

Prices start at $24 including fees for the other two clashes.

Make sure to arrive early if you’d like to take advantage of the giveaways. The T-Shirt and Replica Jersey will be given to the first 15,000 fans that enter. On Sunday, only 5,000 pairs of sunglasses are on hand for kids aged 12 and under.

Ahead of this three-game battle, the 40-54 New York took three of four from the Kansas City Royals, their first series win in over a month.

“It’s a good feeling,’’ A.J. Ewing said, according to The Post. “Guys are fired up. We’ll try to keep it going.”

Boston is also in the middle of a bit of a hot streak. The 43-48 club is 8-2 over their last ten games. Willson Contreras, Ranger Suárez and Aroldis Chapman will represent the squad at the All-Star Game in Philly. New York is sending just Juan Soto to the City of Brotherly Love for the Midseason Classic.
