Mayor Zohran Mamdani has announced an expansion of New York City’s 3-K program, with more than 1,000 new, free seats available this fall in high-need areas and areas where demand outstrips supply.
The expanded rollout comes to 56 NYC ZIP codes, including some on Staten Island, where many expressed frustration at not being included in the 2-K announcement Mamdani made with Gov. Kathy Hochul last week.
Here’s the list of ZIP codes chosen to receive seats in the next round of free 3-K admissions, by borough.
