Lorde has onion rings. Aerin Frankel has Caesar salads.

Frankel, the goalie for the U.S. women’s hockey team, was revealed to be a Caesar salad aficionado.

The same day the New York hockey player made an incredible 20 saves to shut out Canada — a first in Olympic history for the nation to the north — Frankel made headlines when an X user spotted her Instagram hobby.

“I’m sorry I just found out that the hockey goalie for Team USA has an Instagram account where all she does is rate Caesar Salads. I love my country so much sometimes,” Justin wrote on X Tuesday night. The post had more than a million views in less than 24 hours.

Since May of 2024, Frankel has apparently run an Instagram account called “painbyromaine” where she shows off the Caesar salads she eats. Sometimes she’ll even give them a rating.

“Caesar with light crispy homemade croutons, generous amount of shaved parmesan & well dressed romaine 🤌9.1/10,” she posted while dining in Toronto last September.

The Professional Women’s Hockey League got in on the viral fun. They reposted Justin’s comment with a video of Frankel holding a salad.

“No romaine, no gain,” the post said.

Her own team, Boston Fleet, also played along.

“Get someone that looks at you the way @aerinfrankel__ looks at caesar salad:” her team posted.

Frankel doesn’t exclusively post salads, as evidenced by her first post in Italy. Over the weekend she shared a series of food photos from dining out around Milan, but promised “some more Caesar content soon.”

A dominant performance against Canada was quite a surprise. Ashlyn Sullivan and Jordan Hall break down the 5-0 win for Team USA.

More Italian food could be coming from Frankel, whose time in Italy isn’t over yet.

The U.S. women’s hockey team sailed through Olympic group play, finishing with a perfect 4-0 record. They are back on the ice Friday in a semifinal against Italy.
