A 39-year-old alleged pedophile was arrested early Thursday when a vigilante group held a sting operation that nabbed him trying to lure a “teen” in Central Park, cops and sources said.
Ryan Rosario met with a 22-year-old woman who had posed as a 15-year-old girl looking to “engage in sexual activity” just after 1 a.m. at Central Park West and Columbus Circle, police said.
But his alleged plans were foiled when an Instagrammer with 65,000 followers who identifies himself as Ramy – using the Instagram handle “obl.nation” and claiming to “obliterate predators” – was on scene too, sources said.
NYPD cops were quickly dispatched to the scene and Rosario, of Bergen, New Jersey, was arrested and charged with luring a child and acting in a manner injurious to a child, police said.
It was not immediately clear how the Rosario and the woman initially connected.
Footage posted on Ramy’s Instagram story shows Rosario being carted off in handcuffs.
Rosario has four previous arrests – including busts for marijuana possession and theft of service – but no previous sexual offenses, cops said.
His arraignment in Manhattan Criminal Court was pending Thursday evening.
