Cameron Boozer, who was selected third overall by the Memphis Grizzlies, shared the spotlight with his mom CeCe at 2026 NBA Draft at Barclays Center on Tuesday night.
CeCe, whose real name is Cindy, looked stunning in a black dress as she gushed over her close knit family — including husband, Carlos Boozer, a 13-year NBA veteran, Cameron’s twin brother and former Blue Devils teammate Cayden, and older brother, Carmani.
“I think it’s really just faith over fear,” CeCe said of Cameron’s basketball journey thus far during an interview with ESPN’s Lisa Salters. “So we battle that adversity as a family and now we get to celebrate as a family and be here to watch Cameron. I just couldn’t be more proud.”
During the ESPN broadcast, Malika Andrews said Cameron Boozer told her that his mom would drive him to every single practice and tournament to help him find trainers and further his career.
The 18-year-old Duke phenom preached the importance of family.
“I don’t even know how to describe it honestly, man. … It’s my moment, but it’s our moment as a family,” he said.
Cameron Boozer’s girlfriend, Yva Lauren Cao — who is a cheerleader at the University of Miami — was by his side at the draft.
The pair met while they were both in high school in Miami.

Boozer averaged 22.5 points, 10.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists while shooting 55.6 percent from the field and 39.1 percent from 3 in his lone season with Duke — helping propel the top-seeded Blue Devils to the Elite Eight, where they were stunned by No. 2 UConn 73-72 in March.
Boozer Sr. was a two-time All-Star during his 13-year career and was also a member of the 2008 Olympics “Redeem Team” that won gold in Beijing, China.
