Dramatic new footage shows NYPD rescuers rush to help eight passengers off a seaplane that made an emergency hard landing in the East River while returning from the Hamptons on Sunday.
The body-worn camera video from NYPD harbor unit officers – and shared on X by Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch on Monday – reveals the responders dashing across choppy water in a boat toward the downed Kodiak 100.
The plane appears partially submerged as the NYPD boat arrives and an officer uncoils a rope, shouting questions.
“No missing, no injuries!” an officer can be heard saying on the video, with apparent relief.
The plane’s occupants can be seen striding from on its pontoon one-by-one to the NYPD boat’s safety, where officers offer polite words of encouragement.
“You’re doing real good,” an officer tells a woman in a flowing green dress.
The NYPD footage effectively picks up where previously seen harrowing video taken inside the plane’s hard landing leaves off.
