The four most recent first overall picks in the WNBA draft will share the court when the Dallas Wings open their 2026 season against the Indiana Fever.

After missing the bulk of last season with injuries Fever point guard and 2024 first overall pick Caitlin Clark is healthy and back in Indiana’s starting lineup. The Fever further bolstered their starting lineup by signing 2023 first overall pick Aaliyah Boston to a historic contract extension and brought back Sophie Cunningham on a one-year deal.

Reigning rookie of the year Paige Bueckers will start her second season with the Dallas Wings today alongside the most recent first overall draft pick (and Bueckers’ UConn teammate and girlfriend) Azzi Fudd.

Bueckers and Clark only met once last season due to Clark’s injuries. Clark had 14 points and 13 assists in a 102-83 Indiana win, while Bueckers went for a game-high 21 points.

“Me and Caitlin have been competing against each other for a long time,” Bueckers said ahead of the matchup. “I think the greatest way to show respect is to compete and really bring the best out of each other, and I feel we do that when we’re competing against each other.”

Dallas beat Indiana 95-80 in an April 30 preseason tilt, but neither team’s starters played in the last 15 minutes of the game.
