Jana Kramer defended Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s choice to have “sweet” Adam Sandler officiate their Madison Square Garden wedding.
“Everyone was like, ‘Oh, that’s an interesting choice,’” she said on her “Whine Down” podcast Friday, referring to the comedian’s role in the star-studded nuptials.
“I will say [on] the Adam Sandler piece of things, I met him a million years ago,” the actress recalled. “I did that movie ‘Click’ with him.”
“It almost does make sense to me now because he does have that sentimental [personality] like, he’s just such a sweet man,” she gushed. “He really is, and he’s a good man. So I could see him being really funny, but then also really grounded and sentimental.”
Speaking more about the time they spent together on set of the 2006 film, the “One Tree Hill” alum said that Sandler, 59, is “very intentional when he speaks.”
She claimed that although the actor comes off as a huge personality on-screen, he is more “soft spoken” behind-the-scenes, making him a great officiant.
“A lot of comedians you think they’re going to be these very outwardly kind of crazy and wild, [and] he was so soft spoken,” she explained. “You know what I mean? Sweet and quiet.”
Swift’s longtime publicist, Tree Paine, confirmed to Page Six that the “Grown Ups” star officiated the ceremony at the iconic New York City venue on July 3.
The newlyweds appeared to have nudged Sandler to take on the job after he and Kelce shared the screen in the 2025 film “Happy Gilmore 2.”
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end made a memorable cameo in the comedy flick, as he wore only an apron while being smothered in honey by Bad Bunny, who also appeared in the film.
Swift and Kelce, both 36, tied the knot in front of 1,000 people, including celebrity pals like Selena Gomez and Gigi Hadid.
Instead of a traditional bridal party, the bride and groom chose to honor the pop star’s brother, Austin Swift, as her “Man of Honor” and the athlete’s brother, Jason Kelce, as the “Best Man.”
Since the extravagant soirée, the newlyweds made their first public appearance as husband and wife on Friday at Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster’s wedding.
