It is impossible right now for Jaxson Dart not to hear and see the way New York embraces winners. It is impossible for him not to see and hear how the Knicks have captured the imagination of a basketball city that still yearns to be a football city again.
Dart dreams of the day when he can ascend to prince of the city with a head coach who is driven to be king of the city, and when the two of them aren’t attacking their respective crafts with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind, the reminders that there is no better place to win than New York are blaring everywhere around him.
For now, for Dart, it is a faraway dream that became more of a reachable fantasy the minute John Harbaugh was recruited to change the face and fortunes of a flagship franchise, to be realized one practice at a time, one day at a time, one OTA at a time, one game at a time.
I asked Dart if the way the town has rallied around the Knicks allows him to dream of what could be one day for the New York Football Giants.
