PHILADELPHIA — The Knicks have earned themselves a priceless opportunity, one you rarely get at this point of the basketball calendar. If they can lay one more thumping on the 76ers on Sunday afternoon — in front of what promises to be another super-friendly audience of New York invaders aggravating and annoying the locals here — the perks will be plentiful.
Chief among them is this:
Time off. Time to heal. Time to rest. Time to recalibrate. Time to allow Josh Hart’s hand to heal. Time to let Mitch Robinson stay off his feet, which have yet to betray him — take this slab of wood and knock on it — this year. Time to prepare for a trip to Detroit (or a home game with Cleveland).
Time to take in a Mets game!
