A protester with a Tibetan flag set himself on fire outside the United Nations headquarters in Manhattan on Thursday evening, according to sources.

The man was captured on UN surveillance footage planting the flag on a sidewalk at East 43rd Street and First Avenue before self-immolating around 7 p.m., the sources said.

He was taken to Bellevue Hospital in grave condition.

The flag was still in place about an hour after the shocking display as cops investigated the scene.
