Pete Davidson’s pals are coming to his defense after his ex Elsie Hewitt publicly asked for help caring for their infant daughter days after news of their split surfaced.

A source close to the former couple exclusively told Page Six on Saturday that “Pete has been paying for everything related to Elsie and Scottie,” including “the rent, their living expenses, their health insurance.”

The insider added of the “Bupkis” star, “They may have split but all he wants is for Elsie to be happy and in a good place.”

“His main priority right now is making sure that Elsie and Scottie are looked after, so it’s utterly confusing to everyone who knows them why she would possibly post anything about him not supporting her,” they continued.

“Obviously they have had personal disagreements and there has been a breakdown in the relationship but he is fully committed to being a good dad.”

The insider further claimed Hewitt’s seeming insinuation that Davidson “is not providing for her” is “utterly false.”

Sources pushed back in exclusive comments to Page Six after Elsie Hewitt seemingly insisted she’s not getting support from the comedian. They’re seen above with their baby, Scottie, in a social media upload. Elsie Hewitt/ Instagram

“That’s not the reality at all,” they said, asserting that the “truth is he is actually paying for everything.”

“Pete is doing everything to be super supportive to Elsie, he’s changed his schedule, and done everything he can to be there physically and financially so Elsie can feel supported,” they concluded.

The actress took to Instagram Stories in a since-deleted post over the weekend to share a photo of herself covered in lipstick kiss marks.

“I’m currently trying to find an assistant / mother’s helper / nanny type / basically [a] right hand person,” she wrote atop the whimsical selfie.

“Apply here if qualified and serious,” she continued. “Only looking @ responses with resumes. ($ of course.)”

Hewitt also took to TikTok on Friday with a selfie video. “I have a baby to take care of,” she whispered in the upload. “I have to work and make money. I’m doing it on my own, which is hard.”

The “Industry” actress, seen above in a prior social media post, also said via TikTok that she has “to work and make money” and that as a mom she’s “doing it on my own.” elsie/Instagram

Fans had mixed reactions in the comments thread, with one remarking that it’s “Very unfair to have to do this alone.”

Another responded, defending the comedian, writing, “unfair? the baby’s father is in her life & he also has a job 🤷🏼‍♀️” On a repost of the video, an X comment read, “Well Pete Davidson a deadbeat confirmed…”

Reps for Davidson and Hewitt did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment over the weekend.

The Sun reported on Friday that the “Industry” actress and “Saturday Night Live” alum — who welcomed daughter Scottie Rose on Dec. 12 — had called it quits.

“Pete has been traveling so much for work, but Elsie was craving more support from him at home after their daughter was born,” a source told the outlet in comments published on Thursday, noting that it was “hard” for the comedian “because, obviously, he has to work to make money.”

A separate source told the outlet that the breakup very recently transpired, and that they’re now “just focusing 100% on Scottie.”

A source previously told Page Six earlier this month that trouble was on the horizon, as Davidson, 32, and Hewitt, 30, were “navigating relationship struggles” and it was “unclear” how things would end up.

Following their split, a source told us that the “King of Staten Island” star and “Industry” actress are “done” and have no interest in reconciling.

“There have been problems throughout their relationship and things are not good between them at all,” the source explained. “They haven’t been for a while.”

They added, “They tried working things out but decided it was best to go their separate ways.”

Following reports of the relationship’s demise, the new mom was seen pushing Scottie in a stroller while on a coffee run in New York on Friday.

The comedian, meanwhile, has been desperately attempting to offload the sprawling Salem, New York home the couple lived in.
