Are you ready to dance whenever, wherever?
Shakira is looking for dancers to join her for her performance at the first-ever World Cup Final halftime show. The Columbian superstar is co-headlining the FIFA tournament’s show with Madonna and K-pop boy band BTS.
While the set list will likely be a surprise, one song fans can count on is the official 2026 FIFA World Cup anthem, “Dai Dai,” which Shakira recorded along with Afrobeats icon Burna Boy.
In a video message posted to her Instagram Stories, Shakira said she was inspired by the creative dance videos fans have made to the tune of “Dai, Dai.”
“I want that moment to be special for all of us. I want it to be unforgettable,” Shakira said.
Noting she’ll need dancers for the halftime show, Shakira said she’d like to invite “as many of you as I can” to join her for her performance. She urged fans to continue submitting videos as she’ll be “watching very closely.”
The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer revealed she’s already extended the invite to The Ghetto Kids, a viral dance troupe from Uganda. The dancers, aged between 5 and 13, are part of an organization that helps disadvantaged, street and orphaned children from Kampala. Their videos have garnered millions of views across YouTube, Instagram and TikTok, thanks to a combination of energetic routines and infectious smiles.
The World Cup Final will take place on July 19 at the MetLife Stadium — which will be called the New York New Jersey Stadium during the tournament’s run — in East Rutherford, New Jersey, just outside New York City.
