It’s another scorcher for the tri-state area, as heat index values once again soar near 100 for many.

A heat advisory remains in place through Wednesday for a swath of the region, including all five boroughs of New York City.

If you’re planning to be outside in the heat for long periods, keep your activity level low and drink plenty of water. This early in the season, extreme heat can be a shock to our bodies. Check the latest weather alerts for your neighborhood here.

Later Wednesday, a cold front sparks showers and isolated storms. Most should be run-of-the-mill, but some severe weather, with damaging wind or hail, is possible. The best chance of storms is 2 p.m. through midnight.

Once that system moves out, we can turn down the air conditioning. Mother Nature takes dramatic care of that by Thursday.

It stays chilly through most of Memorial Day weekend, with some rain too.

Highs stay in the 50s Saturday and the 60s Sunday. Memorial Day itself could be the best bet for your outdoor plans, with just a few showers early in the day and sun in the afternoon.
