The Yankees are back in The Bronx Tuesday to face the Guardians after a road trip that took them through Kansas City and Sacramento.

The Yankees have won six of their past seven games with some high-scoring games over that stretch. They are heavy favorites in this matchup with a moneyline priced at -215, while the Guardians are +180 underdogs.

The Yanks have Cam Schlittler starting at home while the Guardians will send Joey Cantillo to the mound.

Yankees vs. Guardians prediction, best bet

It feels like a must-watch event whenever Schlittler takes the mound for the Yankees these days. On a pitching staff full of aces, he is standing out in his first full season with the Pinstripes.

After Schlittler delivered one of the greatest postseason performances in MLB playoff history against the Red Sox, it was an open question whether Schlittler could reach similar heights again.

So far this season, Schlittler has risen to the occasion every time his number has been called, regardless of the opponent.

He has a 7-2 record, a 1.50 ERA (best in the American League), a 0.85 WHIP (best in the AL), and averages 10.1 K/9 (sixth-best in the AL). Those gaudy numbers are the reason he is +110 to win the AL Cy Young award.

He’ll face a Guardians team that isn’t exactly crushing it on offense this season. Cleveland ranks 20th in runs scored this season, 24th in batting average, and 26th in slugging percentage.

Schlittler’s strikeout prop has hit at an impressive rate this season. In 12 starts, he has gone Over his prop eight times and pushed once. His line has been set around 6.5, a number he has topped seven times.

I’ll bet Schlittler to hit the Over on his prop once again.

The Play: Cam Schlittler Over 6.5 Strikeouts (+106, FanDuel)
