The organizers of an annual Puerto Rican heritage will not be held at Gracie Mansion, organizers say.
The mayor’s official residence has hosted the Puerto Rican Heritage Reception since the 1990s. The yearly tradition brings together elected officials, community leaders, artists, and others.

The organizers provided no explanation for the switch from the event’s longstanding home. The reception will still happen, now at Pacha New York in Brooklyn instead.
“While this chapter may be changing, the spirit and purpose of the celebration remain stronger than ever,” the NYC Puerto Rican Heritage Committee said in a statement.
The event is scheduled for June 11, three days before NYC’s iconic Puerto Rican Day Parade marches up Fifth Avenue.
